The Light Way model supports children from the inside out in a reverent, holistic, ecological and just fashion. All knowledge children require to thrive in our world will become clear to them as they discover their true passions and interests.

The BIG Picture... 100 Year Plan By
2109, (100) our goal is to open 150 Light Way schools in
self-sustaining communities of around 150 people all over the world. By
2059 (50) we plan to open 10 Light Way schools. By 2034 (25) we plan to
open 4 Light Way schools one each in Durango, CO, Galisteo, New Mexico,
Sedona, Arizona, and Vancouver, BC and not necessarily in that order. By
2019 (10) our plan is to open the second Light Way school. By 2014 (5)
we plan to have the first Light Way Village started. It will contain a
Light Way school running at full capacity of 100-150 learners. The
estate will be 300+ acres with all the potential to ecologically and
renewably sustain a group of 150 people. It will have businesses and
community areas. Part of the profits from the businesses will go to
sustainably finance the village school. By 2012, our three year plan is
to purchase the land and begin the first Light Way Village. Light Way Villages Light Way Schools communities will be opening all over the world. Each school will be part of a self-sustaining community with independent sources of food, shelter, power, and water. Buildings will be entirely green, like Cobb Houses for example. Water will be cleaned and purified through the use of wetlands and other natural methods. Power will come from renewable resources such as wind, hydro, and solar only. Surplus power left after community needs are met, will be sold providing cash resources for community needs. The
village council will be sociocratic meaning decisions are made by consent. We see food, water, shelter,
education, and power as the basic building blocks of human advancement.
These resources need to be provided without question. We seek to build a
community where this is the case. |
