At Light Way Schools we believe deeply that a balance of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual pursuits is vital for your child's success in all areas of life. We offer a full educational program for children beginning at two years old.
We are currently enrolling ages 2 through 5th grade for Fall beginning September 1st, 2009, We offer tuition scholarships to every 9th child in each class.
We have a wait list for grades above 5th grade.
A Uniquely Balanced Educational Program
Research-based academic practices combined with fine arts and tools for developing personal awareness provide a uniquely balanced program.
We use a variety of elements from various educational philosophies including traditional, Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia and democratic schools. Recognizing that while academics alone do not guarantee a happy and successful life, in fact, studies have shown emotional intelligence (EQ) is a more accurate indicator of success than academic achievement, we guarantee that all Light Way learners will be highly prepared to succeed academically. And yet, their pursuits while here will create balance and harmony with all aspects of their being.
Our Core Elements
- Physical (PHY): the health of the physical body is the focus. Physical health and fitness is maintained through regular exercise, fresh clean water, and healthful chemical free food. It is also dependent on mental attitudes and beliefs, emotional balance, and spiritual vibration. The goal is a strong, flexible, energetic body capable of sustained effort.
- Mental (ME): the health of the mind is the focus. Mental health and fitness is maintained through mastery of the thoughts. The goal is clarity. A clear mind opens the pathway to learning and knowledge acquisition.
- Emotional (EM): the health of the emotional body is the focus. Emotional health is maintained through developing Emotional Intelligence (EQ). The goal is a persistent state of emotional balance, freedom, and overall sense of well being.
- Spiritual (SP): the health of the spirit is the focus. Spiritual health is maintained through understanding that we are spiritual beings having a human experience, not human beings having a spiritual experience. The goal is to connect with the truth of the inner self.
Who Is Suitable For Our Program?
The Light Way Curriculum was developed to meet the demands of our new generations of children. We believe they represent a new evolution in humanity capable of far more than many dream possible.
Some people refer to today's children as the“New Children”, called variously“The Children of Now”, Indigo, Crystal, Rainbow, or Star Children.
We regularly hear from parents and children that they are yearning for a safe place to express their unique talents and skills. They seek the guidance of adult lead learners who understand and value their intuitive, creative aspects, as well as their impulse to run, play, and just be children. Many operate from intuition and inner-knowing and have a deep need to express their creativity in their learning.
When these needs are not met, children often become rebellious, and may ask to be homeschooled. Many older children even refuse to go to school completely. Others just shut down their gifts. While others act out and may be labelled ADD/ADHD. We do not believe in giving children medications for ADD/ADHD. Please do not confuse our opinion with medical advice.
Our goal is to provide a safe space for children to fully express, develop and discover who they are.
