Key Elements Of Vision: 

Land-based, spiritual, co-creation with children, to support the flowering of the human soul in connection with all life, to support confidence in one’s ability to respond in the world; connection to farm and cottage industries, children as change agents in their world, peaceful communication, community values.

Current Projects:

1. Identifying a possible location(s) for a program to begin in September for children ages 3 - 12.  We are considering satellite programs around the community in partnership with other organizations and groups.  We prefer a more stable, consistent space for our 3-6 year old, multi-age integrated Montessori/Waldorf program.  
   
2. Full and part time options will be available.
   
3. Completing the Colorado Common Grant Application.  Finding suitable grants. 
   
4. Continuing curriculum/program development.   
   
5. Developing our strategic plan.  
   
6. Holding informational meetings bimonthly. 
   
7. Spreading the word in the community.

Education Out Of The Box

Time:  1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Dates: March 17th, April 14th, April 28th, May 12th, May 26th

Location: Durango Joe's Coffee, 732 Main Avenue, Durango, CO, 81302

These meetings will include a short presentation about the program and philosophies of the Durango Community School followed by a Q & A.

Please park on the street and not in the lot of Durango Joe's. 

General Meetings:

Tuesdays

1. Time: 12:30 - 2:30
   
2. Frequency: Weekly

4. This meeting is for visioning and planning. ALL interested parties are invited.
5. Kids: All ages welcome to all Tuesday meetings. We have a table for them to play at. For older kids, we are right across the street from the park at Park Elementary, which is public and open all day.
   

Thursdays

1. Time: 5:30 - 7:00
   
2. Frequency: Third Thursday of the month.

Saturdays

1. Time: 8:00 am - 1030 am
   
2. Frequency: Every other Saturday starting February 18th.
